Notes:
Arrested for witchcraft 6 June 1629, Martin initially professed his complete innocence. He was placed on the rack and still didn’t confess, so he was suspended with a stone for weight for half an hour, then asked for a half hour time to gather his thoughts. He confessed that he had been seduced about seven years earlier by the Ober Wirthin (since executed for witchcraft). She appeared to be all black and had goats feet. She called herself Susann. He forswore God and all His saints, and she rebaptized him in the devil’s name. He rode a broom and attended a witch’s dance. Among his accusers was Eva Bopp, executed for witchcraft earlier that year, late wife of Andreas Bauer, the latter already betrothed to Martin’s daughter Barbara. He repeated his confession on 11, 12, and 13 June. He asked that his children be put under the guardianship of Adam Riedenauer and Hanß Seübolt, with supervising guardian being Hanß Jacob Glukh. Should his daughter Barbara marry her betrothed, they should inherit some land as a wedding gift and divide everything else with her siblings. He listed his debts and debtors, made other arrangements, let his son Hanß Melchior have his boots and spurs. Ten days after his arrest, he was beheaded and his corpse burned at the stake. His torturer and executioner was Geörg Hodumb.

He served as baptismal sponsor on 3 Nov 1614 for [Martin] Bauer Beck, on 26 Apr 1615 for [Martin] Werner, on 6 May 1615 for [Martin] Geissert, on 20 Aug 1616 for [Martin] Geissert, on 2 Jan 1617 for [Martin] Zollner, and on 28 Jun 1617 for [Martin] Vasolt.
